Welcome
Emily Boyer, horn, and Colleen Potter Thorburn, harp, are apple orange pair, a dynamic new classical duo formed in 2010 that performs original and transcribed works for horn and harp in the greater New Haven area. We strive to delight, enliven, and inspire audiences of all ages through live performances, outreach concerts, and educational demonstrations. We are also committed to advancing the 21st century repertoire for horn and harp and highlighting the music of talented young composers.
Our last concert of the 2011-2012 season is coming up soon on May 26, and you won’t want to miss it. “Infamous Composers II” will feature more music, stories, and drama, centered on our own transcriptions of music by Richard Wagner, Barbara Strozzi, and others. We will also premiere new pieces by Naftali Schindler and Michael Weinstein Reiman!
In addition to offering several innovative concert programs yearly in New Haven, we also regularly perform concerts for charitable causes and partner with local businesses.
